These FOHC Douglas fir balusters and newels are solid one piece (no laminations) for long lasting strength and natural wood beauty. The grade is Select Structural FOHC (free of heart center). These products are KD (kiln dried to 19% or better). The Select structural FOHC grade allows non-structural knots and splits. Our stock baluster is 3-1/2 x 36 (can be cut down as short as 24 inch) and our stock newel is 5-1/2 x 53 (can be cut down as short as 30 inch). You can save money and reduce delivery time by choosing the "in stock" patterns listed on this page. The delivery time for these products is usually 1 to 2 weeks. Other patterns are available and can be made to order.
